Question half shaft removal Question

Is there a trick to removing the half shafts? I have the studs out of the hub flange on the inner joint of the driver's side joint but can't get the hub flange to clear the diff extension flange so that I can pull the half shaft out to the inside.

Let the suspension droop all the way and you can get it off. Also you can use a brass drift to pound the studs out of the flange and it will slip out.

This is kind of a maintainence question.
