84-88 vs 89-95 lower ball joints

Any one here know the differance between the early vs late lower ball joints? I know Total Chaos ball joint kit says 84-88 trucks must upgrade to 89-95 lower ball joints.
The reason I am asking, I have a used duff co kit that uses a stock lower and uniball upper and my caster is negative without room for ajustment. So I was wondering if one of the two lower ball joints is taller or sits closer to the lower a arm.
