It is possible. It is similar to doing an sas on a ifs 4x4 except that you have to add a transfer case, different tranny also I think etc. There are others on here who have done the conversion. Do a search or wait for others to answer.

It is easier to buy a 4wd.

It can certainly be done.

I have always said "If it's two wheel drive, lower it. If it's a 4wheel, jack it up" It would be more feasable to just buy a 4x4 if that is what you really want. Unless you just want to do the project work and have extra money laying around.

Yes, but it will be alot of work and money.

Easier to buy a 4wd truck. If ya get a 2wd truck and can secure a 4wd truck you can chnage the drivetrain over to the 4wd though.

neliconcept had a 2wd 4runner. He liked the vehicle so he converted it to IFS 4wd. If I were to do it I think I would go SAS since everything is new. It can be done. I don't know what he spent.

Its not worth spending all the time, money, effort, and fabrication on a 2wd truck just to make it like something you can easily buy. I would sell it and get a factory 4wd, you'll thank yourself later.
