Well I Went And Did It...
Well Whitey isn't the only one getting a new car/truck. And no I didn't get a H2 There's no way that I could afford one eitherway, and plus I'm not a fan of how they look, WAY too big.
I've been looking around at new trucks for a while now, because my 4Runner is starting to finally show it's age, and I think the transmission is dieing. So I came to the conclusion that I would rather put my money towards a new truck. After researching and looking around at new 4Runners (2002s mainly) and I also was looking at the Nissan Xterras. And after figuring out my money, I decided that I would get an Xterra. I chose the Xterra because I love the way it looks, and because I could get all the options that I wanted for less than it would cost to get a 4Runner with a few less extras. Not to mention my brother knows a designer for Nissan (his friend's dad) and he was able to get me a really good deal on a fully loaded 2002 So I just couldn't pass it up.
I'm definitely going to stay around here (and I'm going to hold on to my 4Runner, and use it for just offroading ) So I won't be disappearing any time soon
I'm going to try and borrow my mom's digital camera and get some pictures of it if anyone wants to see it

Well, at least you didn't get a H2, . I am glad to hear though that you got an Xterra. Although it is not a 4Runner, it is a very good vehicle. Goodluck and I am also glad to hear that you are sticking around. Let us know when you get it and what you think about it. :fireman:

Ack I knew I forgot something, I got it last night
So far I love it, it rides a bit smoother than the 4Runner, and it definitely has more power going up hills and off the line than my little 3.0L I'm still breaking in the engine (80 miles on it, 40 were from the drive home ) So I haven't raced it around yet (and probably won't for a while ) But I can already tell that I'm going to really like this truck both on and offroad

Hi Braden, glad you are keeping the Runner too for trail running.
If you do decide to fix up the Xterra, here are some links.
Yes, I dig the Xterra's, and I have some good links to stuff.

This next link belongs to Chuck's son, Eric.

Awesome off road vids, some of the best out there.
Lots have music to them too

And for performance parts

The Xterra reminds me a lot of the 2nd Generation 4Runners. It is about the same size and has a similar shape etc. I think Nissan must have copied us.

Thanks for the links Corey I'm hoping to put a new exhaust on it once it's broken in (Magnaflow all the way I can only imagine what it'll be like on the Xterra ) and slowly add things (the Xterra took a very nice chunk out of my bank account So the mods will be slow coming )
Yeah I know Warren, the new 4Runners are too much. I mean I absolutely love 4Runners, but for the stuff I wanted on it, it would of ended up costing like $27k and I was able to get an Xterra with more options for $21k out the door.
Randy, I know exactly what you're talking about, and I think that's why I like the Xterras so much. I compared my dad's 4Runner (completely stock 1991, hehe yes we have 2 '91 4Runners in my family, along with a '95 T-100, a '97 4Runner, an '03 Tacoma) and the Xterra's roof (front, because the back part of the roof is raised) and the Xterra sits about 1-1/2" higher and has more ground clearance (including the step tubes on the X) And I also noticed that the Xterra has quite a bit more interior room than the 2nd Gen 4Runners, which is a big plus in my book, because I almost get claustraphobic in my 4Runner with all the windows up
I'm going to take some pictures of it tommorow, and I'll post them here as soon as I can
