I saw better gas mileage with the supercharger personally, not much but a little better.

I picked up a used S/C as well with no accurate history on it, but instead of running it, I immediately had it sent from the seller to Magnusen in Ventura. Once they had it, they tore into it, and reported back to me.
A basic rebuild would have only run me about $400, but they said they found "scoring" in the housing, and could machine it out and install new rotors (as well as all of the normal rebuild) and pretty much bring it back to "better than new" condition for $900 (shipping included).
I got the unit back after about two weeks, and with the URD 2.1, it pushes 11.5 psi.
I never ran a stock pulley (or any other pulley). I performed all of my upgrades at one time so all I have to compare anything is stock, to full blown 12sec 1/4 miles. Lol.

Just got the sc back today. Very well packaged, veeeeeeery well. They used plastic bottles, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts to secure it. Hopefully I can throw it back on before the weekend. So far I'm very happy with customer service and packaging. Will inform on product once I get it back on the truck.

Thanks for sharing, it's good to know there are places rebuilding these things. I have about 159K on my supercharger (176K on the '97 truck, SCed at 17K!). As far as I can tell, it still runs strong, makes 8-9psi or so, etc. At idle it sounds a bit like a diesel, but other than that it doesn't make any strange noises.

Truck runs great, supercharger is quiet at idle, builds and holds boost. I'm very happy with the rebuild. The SC was package super well when I got it back. Cost was reasonable considering the work that was needed. I Highly recommend Wade Embree at Embree specialty machine.

What is stock boost on these chargers? I finally installed a boost gauge and I'm only seeing 6-7 psi. I had the s/c ported and rebuilt before I installed it. Coating on the rotors was stripped but not re-applied. I have no complaints with the power, but maybe I'm missing out...

7-8.5 2.2 pulley
8.5-9.5 with 2.1 pulley and methanol injection.
after rebuild
I'm getting 10 psi with 2.1 pulley and injection.

Thanks for the insight! And congrats on the successful rebuild! My donor has (only) 55K and there is a TRD SC on it that appears to be aftermarket. No clue how many miles it has seen. Might need this in the future. With such complemented work Ill give those fellas some biz aaaaaaaand lets not forget a nice slab of the ol' wallet too!

I will second vital22re's opinion. Embree specialty machine is wonderful. Had them do a full rebuild (although mine wasn't quite as damaged) and re-coated on my Gen 1 S/C. Customer service was off the charts. I received pics and emails almost daily. They even did a quick paint job to mine because in Wade's words "It's ugly" for free. (the poor silver TRD is my fault - took this pic mid touch-up)
Had the same issue with the snout that had just been rebuilt by Magnuson as well.
With meth I'm sitting at a comfy 8.5lbs of boost with a 2.2 inch pulley.
