I live in florida were all we ever have is sand, dirt, water, and mud, so I haven't upgraded them...
btw - why are yours perfectly parallel to the ground and mine slope downwards towards the rear axle?

Yup, control arms. They locate the axle front to back and counter axle wrap.
A track bar is also known as the panhard bar on our toyotas. Just different names I think. The panhard bar locates the axle left to right.

just making sure everone had them. I just used to have a lifted chevy and they sold "traction bars" that went in the same place and could look like that, but of course that was on a leaf sprung rear suspension system. Thanks for the replies!

Oh, wait, "traction bar", not "track bar". hehe Didn't see that. Gotta start actually reading things instead of skimming.
sorry about that.
I believe the traction bars on the leaf springs are to reduce wheel hop and axle wrap. You always see them on the trucks that are lifted with axle blocks because the blocks put too much torque on the leaves by themselves.
