tacomas turn to act up now...:(

the tacoma has been acting a little weird, i first noticed it on the way to hollister with the group on saturday. first problem.... in first second and third when i hit the gas (normal presure) there is a weird "click" than when i let go...same sound. it not only happens when i shift, but if i need to slow down and let go of the gas pedal it does it again...and wheni hit the gas it does it again. i did some testing and it does NOT do it with the truck off when i hit the pedal, and it does not do it stoped at a light with the clutch in. it sounds like it is comming from the transmission area which is why i think it has somehting to do with the clutch....anyone know?
second problem. when the wheels are turned sharp ther eis a weird noise, it sounds like the bearings in the front. can i re pack them , what could be the problem, thanks!!!!!

obviously its happening when the force is being put on the drivetrain, think it could be a mount or something my muffler was doing a similar thing until i replaced it, what happens when u do it in reverse?

havent tried reverse...brb let me try it....and i got a new muffler a couple months ago...

does the sound mean my CVs are going? i hope not, the tacoma is not going to be wheeled anymore and it would piss me off to have to pay to replace the dumb CVs!!!!

sounds like a U joint or possibly the linkage to the 2nd driveshaft is all i can think of, does anyone know more about trannys or think it could be the syncros?

If you got a bad u-joint in the driveshaft it usually chirps and squeals propportional to speed intervals. You get a click more with the CVs. A bad u-joint will also have a funky dust around it (that you can see on the joint) cause the metal is just grinding in there.

i dont think the "click" is comming from the CVs it sounds more like a tranny/clutch issue....its weird.... so for the bearing sound, what do i do?

grease your u-joints, and if the noise changes at all the thats your problem, and while your under there give the drive shaft a shake, the should be no slop in the joints, there may be some movement in the carrier bearing isolator, but thats normal, make sure to do this with the transmission in neutral and parking brake on to relive stress from the drive shaft, good luck
