stiff ride

I have a 2000 single cab tacoma 4x4. It has a Fabtech suspension lift kit on it. The coil over shocks and leafs in the rear. Coil over model number FTS2102. Not sure the amount of lift they make. Also, a 3 inch body lift. I bought the truck after it sat in a yard for at least 2 years due to the fact it had a spun rod bearing.
I fixed the problem and put new 35 inch all terrain tires on it. The truck rides horribly ruff. It feels like im riding without any shocks. Like body on axle. If i hit a speed bump going more then 3mph it will throw you out of the seat. Its bad. Most people say its just because its lifted so much. There is no way this could be normal. you can jump on the front bumper and the truck doesnt move.
Are my shocks screwed or something? Did sitting for years do something to my coil overs? Ive tried messing with the air level in the shocks. It does no good. Is this how these trucks ride with this lift?

The springs might be too stiff, the shocks might be frozen due to sitting, tire pressure might be too high. You should be able to bounce the truck. The shocks should be pressurized with nitrogen, not air.

What do you do about a frozen shock? Would i have to replace them? If i took them out, how would i know they are frozen? im guessing i wouldnt be able to compress them.

Is the problem front, rear or both?

Without the springs, you should be able to compress the shocks, (should be difficult)
I would think that a few large speed bumps would break them loose.

My bet is the springs are too stiff for you truck. There may be too much spring pre-load which will cause the springs to bind & act like they are solid. There are usually code or part numbers on the springs. Contact Fabtech, they may be able to help.

Post pics of your shocks, someone may spot something.

The Fabtech model number on the front coil overs is FTS 2100. I sent them a e-mail yesterday. no responce. Its the front of the truck that im most concerned with. Ive hit some hard dips and speed bumps. Been driving it fror about 400 miles since it was out of commission. No change in the ride. Would maybe changing the adjustment for the spring on the shock do anything for me? The adjuster is about half way to 3/4 of the the way up the shock.

Pics would help, but sounds like there may be too much pre-load. Are several of the coil loops touching? That would cause spring binding.

Yep pictures would help.

Are they adjustable coilovers? If so, try and adjust them down a touch. You'll probably need to buy the tool or figure out how to turn the adjusters without one.

try lower tire preasure, i use obout 30 in my 33's
