I went to the nearest Toyota stealership yesterday to get the shifter seat and bushing for my 5-speed and was floored when I got the price...$77 bucks!!! WTF!!! I laughed at them and walked out.

Who knows where the best place is to get these parts in Canada?

Wow! Can't imagine the 98 parts cost more... I bought mine from the local dealer and it was like $6 for one $8 for the other. The auto parts stores don't carry them, so I had to go to the dealer, but I was relieved when they told me the price!

Heavy Duty Shifter Seat

It's common for the factory shifter seat to wear, crumble and disintegrate over time. This often results in a sloppy or loose transmission shifter. The factory seat is soft so it can be squeezed into position. We took a different approach, and machined groves into the sides of our heavy duty seats. Instead of squeezing the seat into place, the groves on each side allow ours to rotate into position. This allows us to make our seat from stronger, longer lasting hardened urethane. That looks very interesting...Has anyone here had experience with the Marlin Crawler seat and bushing? IE: Does the tranny shifting feel the same with the MC seat and bushing as opposed to the replacement OEM parts?

What a freakin' PITA!!! I ordered the parts through Summit 4 Wheel Drive in Kamloops and never got them! These guys said they sent them but I think I got scammed. I e-mailed them a couple of times but they won't contact me. And now I hear they went "tits up" so I guess I'm SOL!

Looks like I my have to get them through the "stealer" after all.

Does anyone have any clue as to where I can get them in Canada besides the dealer? Or, has anyone found a cheaper price at their dealer? HELP ME!!!

I have the Marlin shifter seat for over a month and its pretty solid compared to the OEM.It may last forever.Anyone needs to change it should buy it from Marlin Crawlers.

I got it from my local dealer here in San Diego (kearny mesa toyota i think it is www.kmtoyota.com). I would also get the little end piece (white plastic) since you have the shifter out.

I paid $10.15 for the shift lever seat (part # 33505-35020) and $4.29 for the shift lever bushing (part # 33548-31010) from the local stealer and I thought that was too much. $77.00 is simply price gouging to the extreme.

I paid right around what nick payed only a few months ago although i just did order a set of urethane from marlin because of the harder material.

77.00, go soemwhere else or get em from marlin.

Today, I got my fat, lazy ass out and pulled the shifter out to see how bad the seat and bushing were and, lo and behold, their fine! In perfect condition. WTF??? I think it's time to put in some of that "Red Line Mt-90" lubricant. Thanks to everyone for their input though, it is very appreciated!

BTW, anyone know where I can get this stuff in Canada, and for how much $?

Good you don't have to replace the shifter seat. Btw, my shifter seat bushing looked pretty good at 86K, but I replaced it anyway since I had the part and the shifts are smoother.

Well I changed out my tranny & T/case oil with the Red Line product and it's so much better now. The shifter now seems to fall right into place and especially in the morning (when its cold) is when I noticed the biggest improvement.
