S/C Mods
Greetings, The plan later this year is to get the 4 door Taco with the TRD Supercharger. My question is what mods are necessary for good performance, this will be a daily driver and will be wheeled.
I put together a quick list of "must haves" and "nice to haves"
Must Haves
Tranny Cooler
Boost Gauge
Improved Air Filter (K&N or Other)
Bigger Exhaust behind Cat
Nice to Haves
Biggier Injectors
Piggback Computer/ECU
Also i will have a local company perform a valve body mod and etc to the tranny similar to the Level 10 protocol
What have the S/C owners on the board done to improve preformance.
All these mods will be done at an elevation of over 5800 feet, which effects most performance mods.

He will tell you all you need to know. I'd be willing to guess that you won't need the fuel mods as bad, as you won't make as much actual boost being up that high in elevation.

I think the list should look more like this (in order):
Must Haves:

Start with a Hayden A/T Cooler, cooler plugs and thermostat that TRD recommends seems to work for me (I also switched to synthetic ATF when I installed the A/T cooler...cheap insurance in my view). The free FMU directions are now included in the S/C installation from TRD. Those will get you started and enjoying the added torque and HP.
I think the next move should be the A/T valve body upgrade, depending on how often you go WOT. The slow shifts from first to second really stand out with the S/C and must wear on the A/T.
From what I have read, the fuel mods (pump, injectors and controller) need to go on together with a lot of recent activity with the SMT6 and Unichip.
And "while you're at it" you may want to add the headers in there around the time you add the fuel mods.
