Rims and Tires suggestions needed

okay guys i need some input from you guys. i'm due for tires any day now. i located a 4 wheel parts store here in bakersfield. they are offering a decent deal right now on their pro comp line. rims and tires plus a $200 dollar gift card.

so my question is, are the pro comp tire all terrain over kill for my 2002 4wd tacoma? i've read lots of threads of people buying tires that were really meant for a 1/2 ton truck. what rating should i'd be buying? i'd also like to know what offset would work best on my truck. i will be buying 16x8 rims with 265/75/16 procomp tires. i was going to do a 2.5 spacer lift to clear everything. thanks you guys in advance!

those tires arent over kill I think they would be perfect.

can you run 265/70s without a lift easy? could prob get 265/75s on there without one too but prob best to do lift and tires so easier off road.

wheels look great!

i think i can fit the 265/75 without a lift with a little rubbing. which is not a big deal to me. i don't off road much. my off roading consist of maybe a dozen trips to my favorite dunes ( pismo, dumont, glamis) to ride my drag 450r. the truck is only used to haul the bike in and out. nothing else. maybe a leveling kit would work great. what do you think.

Hey bakotoy, you might wanna do some Googling on ProComp tires. From what I understand, there's been a lot of problems with them, and with 4WP dragging their feet in warranties. I'm not sure of all the details, but it might be worth checking out before you drop the coin. Good luck!

I can't say I'd suggest procomp tires either, stick to bigger brands (Michelin, BFG, B/F, Nitto, Kumho, etc)

thanks for your guys honest opinion. i respect it and thought i'd ask before i purchased them. i think i might go with the nitto terra grapplers. what do you think.

thanks for the comment on my other toy. it's definately a blast amd fast!

i know when i upgrade im buying the 285/75r16 nitto terra grapplers, that will be with the OEM/sonoransteel lift.
