i don't know anything about speedos, but i'll certainly say mine SOUNDS mechanical, since it chirps at different speeds . my guess is that an electrical speedo would need to be lubed. mine sure sounds that way - as if i have a cable that needs lubing.

My 95 cluster is setup for mechanic or electronic .. can you beat that.
It has a harness hooked up to it .. so I am running electronic.

Well I think its safe to say there is no way of determining what kind of cluster ya got by year. This thread will hopefully help someone else later on down the road when they try to do the swap.
