Alright, I have pretty much decided on giving the Revtek kit a whirl on my 4runner, but I do have one question. A lot of guys on this site like the Revtek lift, but a handful of them have mentioned that the rear ends up lower than the front. Out of couriosity, could I order a few OME trim packers for the rear, and just put them in with the Revtek rear spacers?? This may be a stupid idea, I don't really know much about the OME trim packers, so just let me know what you guys think.

They will not work with the spacers. They only work with a coil.

FWIW the Revtek lift is too high, you'll have issues. I would stick with something in the 2" range and use rear lift coils not spacers.

Alright, thanks for the info.

What is wrong with the Revtek lift?? I know that 3" is kinda hard on the CV's, but doesn't the diff. drop put things back to an acceptable angle up front?

I would not say that the diff drop puts things back at 3". Also the more spacer you add the stiffer the stock coils will get. If you want a truck that sits 3" higher and you drive around on the street, it will be fine, off-road it will be higher but alot stiffer than a stock 4Runner.

If you want 3", try 2" suspension and 1" BL. But in the end it's your call.

Just add a 1" BL.

The problem with my current setup is that I only got about 1" of lift in the front. I'm pretty sure the reason for this is that my OME cups are upside down (shop's fault, not mine) so in reality I need to reverse the cups and see what happens.
The main reason for the Revtek lift is that I really want to clear 285 MTRs and I think I'll need more than 2" to do so.
Also, a body lift would kinda be a pain in the a$$ for me because I've got a brush guard and nerf bars, so either I'd have to make new brackets for them or just let them sit a little lower, which I definitely don't want.

Your post implied that the Revtek lift is fine for on-road use but is not ideal off-road. Is this a valid assumption??

I rolled with the Revtek lift for about a year before the rear started saggin, I only went off road once with the set up, it really put alot of compression on my factory springs. If you do any towing at all I wouldnt use the revtek in the rear, (my) springs couldnt handle the compression and it was to the point that a BIG buddy of mine could bounce on the bumper and hit the bumpstops after about 16k miles with it on. The front spacers however are awsome IMO. I am still running my factory shocks/springs as well no drop at all and still handles the abuse very well. I recently went with the OME rear springs and shocks and the ride is so much better than the revtek gave me.

You would only be able to put the packer on top of the spacer, I think it would have a tendancy to shift since there is nothing to align or hold them other than the small lip round lip at the top where the spring seats and its about as deep as the packer. It all looks pretty shady to me, I wouldnt do it.

The main reason I like Revtek is for their front-end setup. Idealy I would only get the front Revtek and then get OME coils in the rear. Is it possible to order only the front suspension components??

Revtek sucks in the front, its not even a true 3 inch lift, i measured it and its only 2 inches. the only good thing is the diff drop. just my opinion tho.

If you really want to see something awsome, swap out the $17.00 stock shocks, no kidding on the price to some OME HD front shocks and 1999 front coils. Yes the front Revtek spacers are very nice, I have been saying that for years. Actually the Frankenstein spacer is nothing more than a 2" Revtek. Plain and simple.

Even better yet, the 2005 Tundra TRD 4X coils and JUST the OME front shocks. You'll get 2.5" of lift from the coils alone and you can re-use the Revtek top spacer and factory top plate with the longer studs and get a VERY SOFT nice 3" lift.


I run 35's - 315/75/16 with 2" Suspension and 1" body lift. I don't rub.

I'm leaving for Moab in a few miuntes here, but I have every intention of installing the Tundra coils on my 4Runner once I return.

I already have some Tundra TRD 2WD coils and Bilstein 2WD TRD Struts up front w/a 3/8" revtek-type top spacer and I got about 2.25-2.5" of lift. I also have a 1" BL and I don't rub w/ 285 MTR's.

The front Tundra coil spring setup sounds like a pretty good option. I know its too early to tell, but do you guys think that the Tundra coils will sag like the OME coils do??
Also, how much are the Tundra front coils?

I went back and read your thread about your new lift. Great work!! Sounds like that is definitely a pretty good lift for the front, just seems to be some confusion about which springs to use.
Does anybody know if you can order the Revtek kit piece by piece, basically so you could do Revtek up front and OME in the rear??

Yeah I tried that a few weeks ago, they only sell the kit as a whole.
I might try a few other places though, see if anybody will split it up.
