Nice work, good to see you are moving right along. And I'm sorry, thats funny as hell. I can only imagine the obscenities flowing out of your garage.

This reminds me of my first teardown, 3RZ also.

Someone adjusted the valves wrong (PO took it to somewhere unknown for 90k tune up)
10K later, all of the casting between my valves were spider cracked, and the valves had pretty much no dap left. At least you didn't need a whole new head lol but its lookin good!

Ok now ive got a slight concern.
I finally took her up to redline today and when i did i got a strange noise i haven't heard before.

Around 4300+ RPM my engine bay starts making a terrible noise like there is a honda with a fartcan under the hood. If anyone is familiar with VTec its sounds like it kicking in. Its not an exhuast leak and i cant find any rattles to think of. I do have the ISR mod but it didnt make this noise before the rebuild so why would it do it now?

Any opinions are welcome!

So for another $600 you could of bought a brand new 2.7 long block, and avoided all that work. My head gasket blew at 160,000, and just decided to buy a new motor. The engine runs awesome after 30,000 miles, but the only problem now is that everything else needs to be changed out.
