A/C low on R134a-does this always mean leak?

Hi-

I have a 2001 Tacoma I bought 40 days ago from the dealer. Today was the first day I used the A/C and it blew only mildly cool air. I drove it back in and they did right by me at this point-determined it had .45 lbs. filled it back to where it should be with dye and said it held vacuum. I asked if I should come back in a week or so to see if they can detect a leak and they said it wasn't needed because it held vacuum. They said to bring it back if it loses coldness, but otherwise not to worry.

Is it possible that there is no leak? This dealer has done really right by us, ( our other truck had frame rot), so I'm not trying to condemn them, but I'm wondering if they are putting a bandaid on the issue because the 30 day warranty is slightly up and they paid for this part of the service as good will?

Should I have this dye read by someone while it's still an option?

Thanks!

Refrigerant lasts a long time, but not forever. It's common to have to recharge the system after several years so the dealership was probably giving you correct info.
