Newbie, needs a stock foglight lens

Hey guys! Bought my first 4Runner last weekend, really liking it so far. I bought a 97 as my daily driver and have been working on "fixing" the little things that needed attention. I have the built-in foglights that were stock, but one had a lens missing from a stone. I went to a local dealer and they told me new lens is $110, I nearly came unglued! Just for a piece of glass! Needless to say... they still have that one!
Is there a good place to get a replacement lens (I assume that is the right word for that part)? The light bulb works but I would not have it burning without a lens, seems like it would blow easily as soon as the rain or fog touched the hot bulb.. right?
Any help you guys can offer would be appreciated.

I'm not sure which lamps are the stock fog lights on a '97 Limited, but I would suggest a junk yard or ebay. If they're the Hella Micro DE's, I don't believe the lens is replaceable. Good hunting.

Where are the lights mounted? As far as I know 99 was the first year to have stock fogs.

Is it the same fog light lens that I have on mine (check my website)?

If so then go to www.performanceproducts.com and give them a call. They have them in stock for around $60

I may be willing to part with my stock Hella Micro DEs, if that's what they are, from a 1999 4Runner "Highlander". I trashed my valance and removed it along with the lights. I have a TJM T-15 on the way so I probably won't be using them. I think one has a bad connector but the light still works. Lemme know if you're interested and I'll see if I can locate them after the move.

Moonray,

Your 4Runner takes the Hella foglights that Performance Products sells. I am told that they will sell replacement lights without buying the entire kit. Check out the link below.http://www.performanceproducts.com/P...producttype=20

Good luck.

Thanks for the help. The ones I have are more rectangular than the one shown on that site, but that may be a photo distortion.
I am a newbie so I don't have a lot to offer for the vehicles yet. But I have been in the electronic security business for over 20 years. So if anyone needs any help with alarms, cameras, access control, gates, intercoms, etc. for their home or shop, I am more than happy to help. Straight answers to any question. Be warned, I am extremely "blunt" and opinionated! Before making any expensive decisions or signing anything, feel free to ask me for advise. I won't try to sell anything but will offer experienced advice.
This forum is great, everyone has been very helpful and friendly. Thanks again.
