Aloha All!

Here is a pic of my 2002 4Runner SR5 4x2 with 18K miles. As you can tell, this 4Runner is a city car. I had 4 new Michelin Cross Terrain tires installed today.

What would you recommend for shocks & springs for city & highway driving. The stock ones are alright but I want somehting better for ride quality and control.

With Aloha,
Ranney

Wassup brah! Douh! I never got back to you about those micro-fiber towels. I really need some new ones, weekends are always busy and soccer season just rolled into another...dang kids. The things we do for them. I know I still have your number tucked in my ashtray, I'll call you so we can meet and do some biz. Have fun here. Aloha

Aloha Ranney!!!

You may want to look into Performance Products 1" Lift or 1" Lowering Coils and Bilstein shocks.

coils

You will need to do a search on their site for a 2001 4-Runner because they still do not show all the products for a 2002.

This combination will improve handling tremendously.

Love those Towels!!!

I second the PP springs (lifting) and blisteins. I put mine in 2 months ago and love them. I definetly have a better ride and can control the vehicle better while turing.

Here's another thread with similar info since H&R makes the Performance Product Coils.

Thanks guys!

I will have to check out the Performance Products 1" Lift or 1" Lowering Coils and Bilstein shocks.

What kind of cost am I looking at? Did you install it yourself?

Hey Ranney. The PP 1" lowering coils won't work with our 4x2's...they already sit lower than the 4x4's, stock 4x2 coils will lower a 4x4 Runner. A 1" lift will be like a stock 4wd Runner...
I have heard only high praises about the Bils... I'd love to replace my lame shocks too...almost 120K but they ain't busted so I'll live with the ˟˟˟˟ty ride a bit longer. Some guys have installed their own, I used to do all my own shock and brake work...just getting too old and lazy, I'll call around to see who has the best price to install.
