Newbie ?

Hi all. I am new to the make and looking for a 4Runner. I've about given up on finding an 85 and am starting to look at 86-89's and doing an SAS. I had a question about the transfer cases on these trucks. Were all or any of the 4 cylinder cases gear driven. I thought I read somewhere they were, but wanted to be sure. TIA for any help.

There's a couple of '85's for sale here in AZ. I'm going to look at one tomorrow afternoon.

Check AutoTrader.com. Short hop from the left coast, 'specially San D.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question. I'd say continue looking for an '85. Find one for me too while you're at it.

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. So, welcome to YotaTech!

There were several 85's on Autotrader.com when I typed it in. Couldn't look at them though because that site kept crashing my Internet Explorer. Really weird. Did see one with 4.56's and lockers front and rear...just imagine!

That one should have been in the driveway, but the guy who bought my bronco waited too long to bring me the money. Really ticked me off because it also had an LC Eng. stroker in it. I've look at most of them around here and they aren't worth half the money they want for them. I'll check out the ones in AZ, only concern is emissions and passing smog. Thanks for all the help and the welcome aboard. I'll probably be spending alot of time in here. Glad to find a group like this. Any ideas about the t-cases, in case I can't find an 85?
