Hi, everyone.
I posted this in another thread by mistake, so I'm reposting here. Just introducing myself as an enthusiastic newbie to 4runners. I just picked up my 2000 4runner sport edition. Love it. I think I'm more excited about this vehicle than I was my first car! 49,000 miles. It's prestine. Bone stock, right now.

Will be doing alarm and audio upgrades in the near future, so you can expect some questions. I've already searched this forum and done some reading on the commando 870 that seems pretty popular. Looks like I just missed out on a few group buy on that unit.

Anyhow, I'm a die-hard saltwater flyfisherman. I'll be doing alot of beach running with my t4r. Looking forward to getting the most out of my new toy!

Nice to have you on board. I had that exact same rig with a 5-speed a while back. I probably should have kept it, but I had too much done to my 96. Oh well.

Again, welcome to YT.

If you're gonna run the beach, you might wanna think about spraying an undercarraige protectant on it... just a thought.

That's solid advice. Will definitely be doing that. When I first started thinking about a Toyota for the beach, I was drawn to landcruisers - specifically the fj60 and fj62. Seems that rust is a potential issue with those, so I started looking into 4runners at the advice of a few enthusiasts.

96 runner, I'm definitely new to this, but I'm loving this vehicle. I'm planning to stick with it for a loooong time.
