No way that will drop you that much. Bumpstop + 10mm trim packers = 3/4" lift. So taking that out would bring you down like 3/8".

Thanks fightman80. I appreciate that. I think I might take the bumpstops out to bring it down alittle bit. I will also get new brake lines before I take it offroad. However, as far as the panhard bar relocation, could I get by without making any adjustments to it? I thought I might have to correct the offset that was produced by the new coils. Also, who has used the panhard relocation bracket? Is it pretty easy to install? I will keep you all updated with what I find out about the kit from Ironman.

I haven't used a panhard bar adjuster, and find it works well without.....

I have the sonoran steel adjustable panhard, and the difference in length for the 2" or whatever 890's give you is definitely not worth the investment. However, having said that, with the amount of lift you gained I would certainly recommend it. 4" is quite a change in the suspension geometry. I may go LC coils in the future and for that i'm thankful to have the adjustability where I need it.

I agree with CYi5, I have the SS adjustable bar and with OME 890s and 10mm spacers, the stock panhard bar was only 1/8" to maybe 1/4 " shorter than the SS. And the SS locking nut wont stay put - it loosens itself all the time.

Removing the bumpstops sounds like a very bad idea. They are designed as part of the suspension and not really meant to be removed.

On the bright side, with a rake like that you are always driving downhill and you should get some great gas mileage!

haha. Thanks fireball. Well I have noticed the springs have been settling since the install. At the end of the week I will get a measurement and post it.

And how often are you going to touch the bump stops with the giant springs in there...?

Actually, that could depend on a few different things, one in particular is how loaded down you might be. I've got the tallest/stiffest stock 80 series springs that seem to exist (IIRC ~180 lbf/in and ~19.25"/19.50" unsprung height) and I'd wager the rear of my 4Runner sits as high as the OPs when fully unloaded and I've been loaded down enough to be hitting my extended bumpstops (got them from SS or wheelers i think) quite frequently while offroading here in Utah--and I'm not talking about super gnarly rockcrawling. (FWIW, Rather than go to a stiffer spring rate or taller spring, I'm now looking into airbags) .

I would most definitely recommend *not* removing the bumpstops, but rather think about extending them. They are indeed there for a purpose.

ive ran without the conical bumtops for over a year with lots of wheeling with ZERO ISSUES. also theres another set of bumpstops towards the outside of the axle. the ss 1.2 kit comes with super soft bumpstops for the outers and directions say to remove the conical bumpstops with the fj80 springs. no conical bumpstops with tall springs =no big deal.

Silly me not following that we were talking about the conical bumpstops that go inside the spring...i was talking about the other rectangular ones mounted on the frame. I agree that its not a big deal to get rid of the conical ones with the longer/taller coils.
