Manual windows&locks to power?
I would like to have power windows and locks.
Ok heres the question....would the wiring be there? I work in the auto glass industry and know how to put in regulators and such with ease. But since I have been thinking about this I have not had one Taco or runner door glass to replace so I could snap a photo and compare if doors to see if the skin is the same or its a totally different door. Then to add to that would the basic wiring harness be there(under the dash) and so I would just have to add the fuse or somthing along those lines?
Is this a fools quest(retorical). And I am aware color matching just the interior may prove daunting but I am curious and where better to ask....btw I have searched and pretty much all the info was to go to manual which imo would be tit.
Thanks

its a straight-over swap w/ regulator, actuators, and body harnesses, check nearby junkyard. this required a lot of time to do the swap.
another painless way is to get aftermarket unit, both actuators and regulators. IMO, its a lot cheaper this way. if youre aiming at the stock look, go to a near by junkyard.
too bad youre not in houston, tx, there are two fresh wrecked 3rd gen (98 and 99) at this junkyard that i visit often.

so the wiring is indeed there wow, that will make life alot easier if its plug and play. And am I correct in my reading that the door itself is the same too? I know how to throw one of those regulators in with eyes closed. Wirirng I will have to peek( ok ok eyes wide open with cussing and throwing of tools even if its just plug ins). I have the blue interior wish it was the grey. so matching that will suck.
As for salvage yards, I have called at least once a month to every yard I know locally(within a 100 miles) with no luck...wasnt sure I could do it but figured I would go look at the power setup pop my panel and look...then I figured on just looking at the shop but like I said since I thought of that I havent had one to look at.
Thanks for the help, now who wants to scour there yards for a blue power interior that will fit a 98 Taco lol......
Oh side note some one asked me it taco doors were same as runners. I dont know so...?

If you would be so kind as to allow me to briefly hijack your thread, Chain ... (Many thanks!)
Hey Profuse007, I am in Pearland and am working on a 5vz-fe swap ('99 engine into my '93 P/U). I am in need of a computer and engine harness for my project. Do you know if the fresh '99 that you spoke of was by chance a standard? I need the electronics for a 5 speed.
Thank you both!
