Go to Payless Shoestore, try on 1,428 different pairs of shoes. Buy one pair. Put all the little packets of silica gel dessicant from all the shoes you tried on in with the pair you buy. When the clerk gives you the stink eye tell them you have awful sweaty feet. Install in your truck. Voila!

I tried Rain-X on the inside, since I had a bottle anyway, and it *seems* like it's not forming ice in the same place. But will have to give it more time to be sure.

When my A/C worked in my '85. I had to manually engage it with defrost to have it help dehumidify the air. Now that I no longer have it, I have to use heat only. The trick is selecting whether to use fresh or recirc. If the outside air is cold and dry, I use fresh, but if it is foggy, raining or snowing outside, I'll try recirc.

You have that backwards. If it's foggy rainy or snowy you NEED fresh intake to circulate the moisture from your breath and body out. Otherwise you become one of those bozos you see driving around with moisture dripping down the insides of their windows.
It's really easy to remember. There is never a time for recirc except when you want the fastest possible cooldown in AC on a hot day. Cars that don't let you choose fresh/recirc work that way - only closed the outside air door on Max AC, all other positions are bringing in fresh air.
