How to get stub axle out
hey guys. i am having a hard time a hard time getting the stub axle out. I guess im not clear on what all needs to be taken out to get the assembly out. i have the hub off completely, and the very end of the axle is showing. I also took off the 12mm bolt and the washer that was on the very end of the axle. so if anyone knows the precedure and wants to share that would be great.

Thanks Jay for the quick reply...i figured that C clip had something to do with it... My overall goal is to change inner and outer CV boots, so i need to get the Axle Shaft Flange from the DIfferential Assembly flange. and then remove the C-clip from the tripod joint... and then slide the boots off.... does that sound about right? Thanks again

Remove C clip
Remove axle from vehicle
Remove all CV boot clamps
Remove Inner joint and boot
Remove outer boot
Clean everything.
Grease up the Outer joint.
Install Outer boot and clamps
Slide on inner boot small clamp
Install inner boot and joint and grease
Reinstall axle
best I can do for now

I assume you got a wrench on both ends of the bolts, right? If not and you're only wrenching on the top part of the bolt, it'll be impossible to break 'em loose w/o breaking something 'cuz they're splined and pressed into the flange.

yea i have a backup wrench on the bolt, and im working the nut... this is one of those jobs that would be VERY nice to have a lift to work with, then i could get a longer bar on there for more leverage
