Hood latch adjustment on 99 runner?

Is there one?
I have a slightly loose hood that rattles when off road
I did not see any adjustment on the latch mechanism.

I know the 2nd gens have some rubber bump stops that are adjustable , they are one on the drivers side and one on the passanger side right above the headlights .
But not sure about the 99

The 99 has those bump stops also. Actually I have never noticed a car without them. Just give them a twist to raise them up....counterclockwise I think. I do believe there is a latch adjustment also.

Ahh the simple things in life. Makes me want an ice cold lemonade.Or a Rainier. I put weatherstripping inside before I read this. Helped but this solved in my 99 taco. Guess I have double protection now. Thanks!

Is there another way to adjust the hood so that it pulls down tighter? I twisted the rubber bump stops up but now my hood sits up higher. Is there a way to adjust a spring and get the hood to go lower?

Lower the stops a bit , try to find the middle of both the stops and the latch .

If I lower the stops at all the hood then wobbles. I need to move the latch down maybe. Is there some kind of adjustment bolts or anything on the latch itself?

Maybe loosen the hood bolts enough to when you latch the hood, they move to their natural position when the hood is closed (with the bumpstops in reasonable position). Tighten them up at that position, then bump-stops from there?
