high idle
when i come to a stop sometimes the idle is very high. i have to give it a good rev for it to come down. im thinking its the spring on the throttle body or the dashpot. how hard is to change the spring?

okay so i lubed up everything and made a nice difference, but i can still push on the throttle on the TB a lil and make it come down. should i start looking at the spring?

Could be the return spring if it is very rusted or has seen too many cycles, but I have also seen a worn throttle body stick too......you might try some WD40 on the butterfly valve and on the attaching linkage (ie where the butterfly pivots). Try moving the linkage from side to side and if there is any excessive movement it may need replacement....or you just live with it as is. When you open the throttle it should snap back with decent force after letting go. Also have someone step on the gas while you pull on the cable to ensure the cable is not binding somewhere.

Mine is doing the same thing.I have cleaned the tb,lubed up the linkage and cables and it will idle at about 15-1700 until I tap the gas, then it will come back down.I can also turn the throttle back at the tb to get it to come back down.I am thinking it's the spring too.Doesn't feel like there is a whole lot of return left in it.
