Take it back and get a Flowmaster, if sound is what you want.

i just recently had a magnaflow 18" installed and i was surprised at how mellow it is when you start it, but i really like the sound under acceleration, as well as the idle because it is a 4runner and not a Z71... It sounds more quality and less raggedy if that makes sense

I have a 2-1/2" Super Turbo muffler sitting in my garage if you want noise. That thing was obnoxious. I have the Jardine cat-back on my current 4Runner and it was a little obnoxious with the 3" chrome tip on it but I removed the tip and over time it has really quieted down nicely. It's a straight through muffler as well so it has helped increase my gas mileage too.

this muffler should be louder than a flowmaster 40 now that i think about it
its got STRAIGHT through like a ricer muffler and is maybe 14 inches long

if you ut just the muffler on, it probably wont be much louder than stock... a lot of the increased sound after a muffler instal is due to larger, less restrictive exit piping.....

im goin to get a test pipe put on today so basicly i think im gonna end up with a cat back sooner or later..
my tailpipe is what quieting down alot i think...i dunno if i can get rid of it and pass inspection now (yes i know i cant pass inpsection with a test pipe...thats why its a test pipe)

Get a super delta 40...at startup it sounds deeper than what it should and under acceleration it takes right off. If you save for the 2 1/4" pipe then I'd recommend it. I only paid $60 to have aluminized pipe welded all the way back and supplied my own high flow cat and muffler.

went back today and we played around...we puleld the pipe after the cat..and to no suprise it wasn't the cat. Than the bent up a new pipe from the cat to the muffler (mid pipe?) thats 2inch but that made no diffrence. So than we chopped off the magnaflow and welded on a 12inch glasspack. wow what a diffrence...it doesnt sound as good as the flowmaster but maybe one day ill get one...im going to upgrade to 2inch piping for the tailpipe eventually...2.25 would be nice but i dont wanna sink that much money right now.
the best part is they did not charge me at ALL for an 1 1\2 labor, the glasspack or the new midpipe.
i have to give a hand to the owner of the shop for that hes a really great guy.
videos and pics soon to come
