Fog Lights Stopped Working
I have a 98 ltd with factory fogs. I noticed the other day they quit workin. I took the lights to look at the bulbs, and they looked fine, but one lense fell out. So this had me thinkin that water got in and shot the fuse, but I can not find the fog fuse. Btw: I couldn't get the bulbs out of the socket either. I felt like I would break the bulb before it came out. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Kyle

Begin by checking to see if you have voltage (with the switch & ignition on) at the sockets after you unplug them from each lamp assembly for starters. If you do, then you know it's in the lamp assembly. If no voltage is present at the sockets, work your way back. Most likely it's the fuse or the relay. Both are under the hood on my '00. You may also try applying 12 volts from another source to the lamps to see if they're functional.
Are your fogs the Hella Micro DE's? There was a period of production that Hella did to Toyota specs that simply suck and corroded very quickly. If it's the lamp assemblies, you should be able to pick up a pair without having to buy the entire kit.

I know where the fuse is on the 00'. Mine is non existant. The lenses say Hella on them, so they probably are the Micro DE's. Does the bulb just pull straight out, or what? I tried pulling on them, but they didn't want to come out very easily. I felt like I was gonna break the bulb before it came out of the socket. Oh, and one more thing. That one lense that came off...most of the reflective material flaked off when I unscrewed it.

I DO know that on the round Micro DE's, the H3 bulb is removed from the rear of tha lamp assembly and it is held in by a spring clip. When I had the corrosion issue with mine, the bulb on one of my lamp assemblies had to be forcibly removed. BTW, I put Hella Yellowstar H3 bulbs in my lamps... Nice soft contrast in fog and rain and less glare than standard H3's.
