Fog lights don't work anymore...

Does anyone know if there is a specific fuse for these lights?

Sorry, I have a 97 runner limited. They were working fine the other day and now the switch does nothing. I'm hoping it's just a fuse somewhere. Thanks.

My rig is a 99 and it has a fuse for the fogs in the engine bay fuse box. Check yours and see if it has blown.

It could be a number of things: bad switch, blown fuse, bad relay, broken wire, both bulbs burned out at the same time (doubtful)...

I have a 97 with the fogs.
I have had a few problems with mine.

1st the relay was bad. I opened it up and it was rusted. I cleaned the contacts and it worked good until last month.

I decided to order a new relay last week and installed it. My fogs still don't work. I looked at the fuse and it was blown. I installed a new fuse and it blew again. I need to through my wiring today and figure out what's wrong.

For your problem I would do the following:
Check the fuse. I installed my fogs (toyota/hella brand) and the instructions stated to put the fuse by the battery, bolted on the inner fender. The fuse is located inside a plastic housing and held in by a plastic clip.

Check the relay, Mine is installed (per instructions) by the battery on the inner fender, but back behind the headlight. Its just a small black box with 4 wires going into it. You can open it with a flat head screwdriver. You will see a spring with a piece of metal attached. Check that area for rust or pits in the metal.

Check the bulbs, it is possible for both to be blown.

Check the wiring, the wiring is pretty simple, 4 wires to the switch, one goes to the power, one to the ground, and the last is spliced into the headlight wire located behind the panel below the steering wheel. The last wire goes to the relay. The relay has four wires, power, which goes to the fuse then the battery, ground, wire from the switch, and the wire to the fogs. The fog lights have two wires for the bulbs.

Check the switch, you can do this by using a test light and see if it lights up when the switch is turned on.

Hope this helps!

Hey thanks... I will take a look. I doubt both of the bulbs are out too, one of them is brand new. The fuse box does not specifically say which one is for the fog lights, so I guess I will have to check each one.

The fogs don't have a fuse in the vehicles fuse box. It is in its own little holder. Try to follow the wires from the lights, to the relay and then it will lead you to the fuse.
