Dr. Z and Any others with TUBE STEPS

Hey guys, Dr. Z in your icon I think I saw your 4runner looks silver, it may be it may not be but I am looking for pictures of a silver 4runner with color keyed fender flares and the alloy tube steps. Reason being I have a 2000 4Runner with color keyed fender flares and runningboards. I am seriously considering buying some tube steps and trashing the old looking color keyed running boards. But I want to seriously look at a few and how they look before I decide to go ahead and do it. Any pictures you have may help. Will it look ok with the color keyed fenderflares but not the running boards?

Also another quick question. My friend has a 99 4runner it seems like his sits higher then mine. Did they change the height from 99 to 00? Toyota doesn't note a change but that may be off... it seems like I don't have as much ground clearence as him.

Nevermind Dr. Z I just looked at your icon more it looks like you have the stock running boards, sorry for the mixup. But I still need pics of tube steps if you know of any.

Hi Am,

You are correct, I have the running boards. I also have chrome bumpers. I don't like the Large Fender Flares of the Sport Editions and Limiteds, personally. I think they look clunky. I'm probably making some people gasp by saying this. But hey, it's just my personal preference.

I think the 2000's are lower, but I have not gotten official confirmation on this, just conjecture. I will be installing PP 1" Lift Springs shortly. My springs are shot and I want more lift anyway.

I have never seen a 4Runner with stock tubes steps. Bob_98SR5 just posted a mod he did using the Tube Steps from the Xterra. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...&threadid=2877] I know this isn't exaclty what you were looking for, but it will give an idea of what they will look like.

Peace!
Dr. Z
