You wouldn't happen to be talking about the Woodruff Key, would you? I'm guessing not but it does have a smiley profile.
Is the pulley off? How about some pics? I would guess that depending on the location & size of the break that you could get by beveling any sharp edges so that it doesn't wear the belt. Be careful prying on that pulley. It has a rubber isolator between the crankshaft & the outer pulley to dampen vibrations. It can be damaged. I just had mine off. It took a lot of wiggling but finally slid off.

Replace it with URD crank pulley. I believe it's cheaper than factory, and gives you some performance gain.

My thought would be if it rotates and its missing a piece from it, then I would replace it because it could make it vibrate because of missing weight, and eventuall could ruin a bearing or worse let the crankshaft break, but just my thought.

If you're the only one with a rifle screaming like a maniac, go back inside. It isn't time yet." |

URD Pulley... I didn't even think about that. Dealers here in my neck of the woods are asking close to $600 new. Toyota of Dallas is about $300 but I'm not sure how customs and shipping to canada work and there's not much at the boneyard. Are essentially all of the 5VZFE's the same or are there some difference albeit minor across the model years and models themselves? It seems there are more wrecked 4Runners than Tacomas but I always wondered about compatibility of these parts. One would think they'd be the same so long as we're looking at a 3rd Gen runner and 1st gen taco.... Can anyone comment on this?
