Any way to tell 4runner year by look?

yeah, friends think I'm crazy... they'll see another 4Runner, and say "ooh look, a 4Runner" and I say "ooh a 97"

My first response is similar to the above - just open your eyes. Then I thought, perhaps this is like my wife asking me which black pump goes better with her dress. IT was obvious to her, but to me....
