Question Air Box and Intake Question

I recently removed the tube that connects my air box to my throttle body and found that when I tryed to start the engine, it wouldn't start. As soon as I reconnected the tube, it started it. Why is this? Is it the air flow sensor? Thanks.

You might be right on that one, lol. Its just a plastic tube running from the airbox to where the butterfly valve opens. Is that the vacuum tube?

The answer to your question is yes. It did not run because the cpu didn't see a signal from the afm that there was airflow, therefore you were not getting any fuel. The fuel pump kicks on when the afm sends a signal to the cpu that you are starting the truck and there is air flowing.

What were you trying to do by removing it?
