02 Tacoma 2.4 or 2.7 L?
I am trying to order some stuff for my "stock" Tacoma and I have no idea where to find if my truck is a 2.4L or a 2.7L?!? Any hints?
Also, If you had the truck, what would you do to it??
Thanks Dustin
2002 Tacoma
4cly
5spd
shortbed
05 Taco wheels
big grill guard- might need to go.
All stock.
just went over 80,000.
Any ideas?

check the Vin and call the dealer. you should have found out what size motor you had before you bought the truck IMO. you could haqve easily been ripped off not knowing that kind of info. Asidef from sounding like an a$$ either call in on the vin or look at your title it should tell you.

Here's a better approach, try telling us a bit more about your truck. You should be able to at least tell us whether its 4 wheel drive or not...? Like posted earlier, if its a 4x4 or "Pre-runner" its a 2.7L if its 2 wheel drive its a 2.4L.
Try checking edmunds.com or kbb.com for further information. You may also look under the hood at the block, it should be tagged. If its a "3rz" then yes its a 2.7L, if its anything else than its a 2.4L but again telling us a bit of information about your truck would help.
Otherwise it is hard to help you, and most may not even take the time to try because again this is an enthusiast forum, that is, you shouldn't be surprised if you get harped on.
From the look in your picture profile, I'd say its a 4x4. Its got the stance of one so thus I would say its most likely a 2.7L.

Heres the really easy way to check: GO COUNT YOUR FRIGGIN LUG NUTS!!
6-lug=2.7
5-lug=2.4
Simple as that.

wheelers offroad is good for lifts. Trd lockers can be used, but your going to have to mod the diff housing to use them and then wire them up. Offroadsolutions.com has elocker wire up harness that are plug and play. It will be around the same to be elocked, and to be arb locked. I am personally going to be locking my rear with an arb.

Any Tacoma that doesn't have a stock e-locker has an 8.4" rear axle. The e-lockers only fit the 8" axles. If you want a selectable locker, your 2 options are to get an ARB RD 89 (i think thats the right part #) and put it in your stock axle, or swap out your entire axle for an 8" axle with the locker

sounds like you might have the 2.7L...
Although I haven't done it yet I have heard a header seems to be a worthwhile option since the stock manifolds tend to crack... which provides the perfect excuse to get a performance part :-)

A Nicobar Pigeon in the National Zoo shows off its iridescent scapulars to good effect. This is a large, heavy pigeon at 40cm in length. It is mainly metallic green with green and copper hackles on the neck. The head and upper neck, flight feathers and breast are dark grey. The tail is very short and pure white. There is a black knob on the base of the bill, and the strong legs are dark red. This is not a very vocal species, but possesses a low pitched repetitive call.
