jrock555 '91 Toy - '68 Landrover build

Hello all,
Here is my first and hopefully last frame up build.

I got the idea of using a Landrover body on a Yota frame/drive train about 13yrs ago when I saw an article in 4wheeler for a guy who put a Chev 350 in a Landrover. That and the fact that I am tired of working/owning rigs with rotted out bodies due to rust (I live in Ontario, Canada = lots of road salt in the winter!)

So...13yrs ago I found my donner Rover for $500 and have been collecting parts ever since (mostly for free) Now I have the time and $ to start and hopefully finish my project. I've taken a year off of work (planned) to do several things and this in one of them. The other major one is to get married....this project may well be the first test of the marraige.

My goal is to have a simply built truck that could be a daily driver but also capable on the trail for weekend fun. I used to wheel samuria's and I was getting to the point where I was wrenching more than wheeling due to trying to fab-modify evrything on my rig, no more! (Ya right)
So here is the start of the project

What is completed so far:
- '91 extra cab frame cut down to 88in wheel base for the rover body to fit on.
- SAS on the front with a rebuilt axle, 4:88 gears
- new springs all around

What is going to happen soon:
- install 22re from donner '90 4-runner
- install r151 (turbo 5-speed tranny) or a regular 5-speed from the '90 4-runner
-lower drivetrain 3 in to acommodate shorter wheel base and ease the DS angles
-possible rotation of the rear pinion to use a cv on the rear and the jury is still out on the front shaft as I have an '85 to fit but I may rotate the knuckles

What is going to happen in the future:
- LOTS!!!

I've posted some pic's to show where I am and what I've got right now... more to come as I progress. As always any opinions/ advice is welcome as there is a lot of knowledge out there that I do not have.
Thanks for looking.
