2DoorRunner's 1990 2DR 4Runner Build-Up Thread

I finally got around to starting a build thread. I will make the first part quick because most of you have probably read my other threads.

It started as this...

Then i removed the running boards...

And i just got new wheels for $100!

I will have a new set of 31x10.5 BFG All Terrains in about a week.
I also have a steering wheel im going to put on. I just need to get it from my dads house, and order the adapter.
EDIT:I almost forgot, im making a skid plate too.

http://www.amazon.com/Uniden-PRO520X...8004277&sr=1-1
I will be using a 102 inch whip antenna from radioshack, and im not sure about the mounting yet.
Im hoping to have it ready for the toy run on dec. 5.

Front bumper is cool, whats it weigh compared to the chrome bumper u took off? I notice some guys put 300Lb bumpers on and then complain about getting 8 miles to the gallon.

Hey thanks man.

Im not sure if they are specificly for a 4runner, but they are just a yakima rack, they have a snowboard rack mounted on them right now.
You should be able to find a good set up for prett cheap on craigslist.
Im hoping to switch over to some kind of safari rack in like a year, so they will be coming off then.

I have no clue, im guessing about 150 maybe. Im sure it effects mileage, but it saved my 4runner when i rear ended someone a few weeks back, it messsed up their car pretty bad.

Im not sure if it causes the suspention to sag or not, i have no visible sag in the rear, so maybe it evens it out. I will weigh it when i take it off. Im planning on an addicted offroad stinger bumper after i get my aussie in the rear and my cb set up.

And this summer im getting some wabfab tube doors, i have to compete with the jeeps!

Does anybody have experience with midland cbs? This one is a bit cheaper with similar features.
http://www.amazon.com/Midland-1001Z-...pr_product_top

Which one should i get?

EDIT!!!
Wow, compare the dimentions of the two. The midland is quite a bit smaller. I think i will go for it. Any objections?

i know they are really good, but if you click on more technical details it says 12x6x6, thats huge!
The midland is 4x2.

EDIT: It shows different dimentions on the original page, so im guessing they are both similar in size, and the dimentions on the more info page were a typo.

I know they are like Yakima or Thule. I dont want to spend $300 on a roof rack for my snowboards and finding one (just about ANYTHING) on CL in Alaska is almost impossible. especially since they split up Anchorage/Mat-Su valley and Fairbanks (where I live) Theres like 5-10 postings a day. And Anchorage is 9-10 hours away in the winter. I would like to get a basket sometime too, but not for a while myself. I want a thule/yakima rack for snowboards this winter. 4-5 people +snowboards wont work in the runner. And none of my friends have trucks.

I was going to get the uniden 520 but i decided on a slightly cheaper cobra that had great reviews. I also ordered 18 feet of coax cable, an antenna mount, a spring for the antenna, and a 102 inch whip.

My dad used to customise cars, and he found a left over steering wheel that im going to use. I just ordered an adapter for it today.
Its still a little dirty, and its real leather.
