1989 yota 4x4 problem

Hey guys I'm brand new -like this is my sec day on this page- and I was wondering I have a 1989 Toyota 4x4. It's a automatic I haven't converted it yet. But my main bummer is it's not locking into 4 wheel drive. I don't have locker hubs. It hasn't been working since I have bout it... If anyone has any ideas of what to look at b4 I go drop a lot of money I don't have into a new trans case that would b sooo helpful! Thanks guys

is the transfer case not locking in or is it the front diff? If the transfer case shift lever will move, you could put it in 4lo and have someone put it in drive and move forward slightly while you watch the front driveshaft. if its moving its something up front

to upload pics you need to get a photobucket.com account (100% free). next, upload your pics to photobucket. when posting on ytech click the little yellow box with mountains in it and then copy and paste the url (found in picture description) into the box. then click OK. you can upload as many pics as you like.

you should also consider swapping it back to manual locking hubs. lots better than the auto.
