Cool, I'll keep my eye on your rig in the event my 80 gets sold before your 4Runner sells.

Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate it! A buddy of mine has a machine shop and created the adapter. A quick turn and I can go back to the original shift knob.

BTW - I am willing to take $6200 for the rig.

Oh, to have $6200!!!!

Amazing truck, Shane. I hope you find a home for this rig with someone who really appreciates what you've got here...

I would only make one change... I'd change out that Coors tap for a Killians Irish Red.

Hope you can work it out KC - I really am hoping to find someone from the "family" so I can still see The Silver Bullet every now and then!

More Pics!

When the interior was out and replaced. No rust!

Undercarriage

undercarriage again

undercarriage again....

The only rust on the truck. This is on the main beam on the passenger side. It is about the size of a silver dollar.

Clean carpet.

Clean carpet in the rear.

I took the carpet out of the "bed" area. No rust.

Tires only been on for 3 months. I'd say about 4000 miles.

This is prior to the paint job - original stickers can be seen. No rust, no body damage.

Hope these pics help. I am a motivated seller but I know I have a good truck here. $6K.

Shane

Questions received and answered

I have had a lot of questions about my rig so I have compiled a list of answers.

I will check on the owners manual but I doubt that I have it. I know it is available online in .pdf format.

I am the 3rd owner

I have a copy of a clean CARFAX report on the VIN which is JT4RN62S8H0174940.

The reason for the sell is to pursue another vehicle. I love the 4Runner - it has been my daily driver for the last 4 months.

Everything that has been listed was done by me (or I had it done).

The truck drives as good as it looks. I have a lot of confidence in the truck. It uses a little oil but it does not leave any on the ground when sitting. It is 21 years old - it is going to use a little. I believe the oil is escaping from the rear main seal but has not been an issue so I haven’t addressed it.

I had the idler arm and the spindle on the truck replaced when I did the Warn hubs by 4Wheel Parts here in Austin. They are a National chain and do great work.

The rear bumper is still damaged. I found a replacement for it online for $125 delivered. I did not change it because my intention was to have a rear bumper built with a swing out spare tire carrier.

The only rust on the truck is in the picture shown. There is no rust hidden by the fender flares. There is no rust anywhere else.

I am not sure what all was done during the engine rebuild. I know that it was done around 30K miles ago prior to me owning the vehicle. I do not have any paperwork on the rebuild. I had my mechanic check the engine out prior to purchase and it is sound. It runs really strong.

I still have the factory knob. The beer tap knob slips on and off with ease. No modification was done to the OEM shifter.

The clutch is good at the time. You do have to push it all the way to the ground for reverse but all forward gears slide right it.

Front and rear brakes are new - less than 5K miles. The back ones are still squeaking from the glaze.

Interior panels are in great shape. No tears. No stains. There is a small hole where a LED was installed.

There are some toggle switches above the stereo that were hooked up to lights. It is a clean install and looks fine. There is an added oil pressure gauge and the truck has the factory altimeter.

No vibration at highway speeds. Tires are new and properly aligned and balanced.

Shocks are Rancho RS5000's.

Frame is straight, rust free. The truck has never been in an accident.

Truck is originally from California.

No other leaks that I am aware of.

No leaks with the top. It comes off and goes on with ease. I have had it off several times and have no trouble getting it to seal back on tight.

There is no tow hitch on the truck so I am not sure about the towing. With a receiver hitch installed, I would bet it would do fine.
