33" Highway All-Season Tire Choices
Im in need to switch from 31x10.5R15 BFG All-Terrain to something in 33" Tire Range since I have 5" lift with 4.88 Gears on my 22RE. Its currently over-rev'ing too much on the Highway.
I dont want to go towards an aggressive thread and in need for something more towards Highway-All Season / Less Rolling Friction as this is my DD.
I see most people running 33x12.5R15. I was wondering if I should switch over to 16" rims, so I can have more tire choices available as
285/75/16, 305/70/16, 255/85/16's seem to be about 33" tall.
I have heard good things about Michelin LTX MS/2 Highway all-seasons in 285/75/16
Wondering what other 33" Tires other people are using in Metric Format instead of 33x12.5R15?

The Michelin's are an excellent tire as long as you plan to keep it on the street. Very quiet and excellent in rain. If you're looking for something a little less expensive, take a look at the Falken Wildpeak (also known at the Rocky Mountain ATS).

I rocked 31"'Michelins with 4.88s for about 1.5yrs on my truck and I thought it was fine, but I was at stock height. My cruiser is mostly a DD with occasional jaunt offroad, so I chose a "hybrid" type of tire, the 285/16 GY Duratrac and have been very pleased. If I were to choose another tire (or had it hit market earlier) I may have gone with the newly redesigned Cooper AT which also looks like a hybrid. Next, another tire that people like is the Nitto Terra grapplers. Lastly would be the BfG AT - sure they work Ok but they're old technology and someone on every street has them.
As to size, that's up to you. To me it wouldn't make sense to switch to 16" tire unless you need to. Tires typically cost more the bigger the wheel size even though there's less rubber. BUT, the nice thing about metric tire sizes is they are typically a little taller in comparable sizes (like a 33 vs 285)Figure out what tread pattern, then look at specs to help you decide.
