cooper stt or goodyear mtr?

i have a chance to get a set of 35x12.50 cooper stt for 875. including mounting and balancing or goodyear mtr for 940.I wanted some input on these tires and which would be better for me.i live in the pa mountains and 70% of my driving is on road while the other 30% is trails and a little mud.My friend has the same size coopers on his ford ranger and with 6k miles the still look new and are wearing evenly so im leaning toward those

my friend has them on his ranger and he was very impressed with them in the mud, another reason why im leaning toward stt is because they are supposed to do well in the snow and that is a big plus since i have to be in work at 5am before roads are plowed

I have mtr's and they are real nice on and off road. My buddy has stt's and they wear horrible and were absolute garbage in the snow.
