Looks pretty sweet Corey... from an application point of view you could attach a couple of shock cords to rings on the edges of the thing and strap it to the hood when you are parked to prevent it from blowing away. Depending on how well it reacts to heat you might even be able to strap it there while rock crawling to keep the electrics fully supplied during low rpm maneuvers...
I wonder if anyone has tried using one of these things as a sunshade inside the truck to keep the in car temps down and top up the batt. at the same time? I really should dig out my little panel and see just how much juice it puts out. I like the idea of that little trailer plug in the grill. If I ever get my Satoshi done it will be a part of it for sure.

Thanks Paul.
I think I will bungee it to my awning when it is deployed when camping. I will figure something out. Funny thing about the meter I used. It was part of a state paid tool kit I got when I went back to school for six months the first time I was laid off from Boeing. This was back in the fall of '95 to spring break of '96 when I went to school and received the kit. Got my call back during spring break then. But it still has the original battery in it ![]() Not sure if it is 9v or AA cells. I should crack it open. All I know it has been a dependable meter. Yes, you should test your panel to see what juice it puts out. I forgot to test for amperage output, I think the meter can do that too.

Looks way cool if you are a big time camper.
To me camping is sleeping at the hotel. ![]()

Thanks Brian.
Very easy mod to do, and it went without a hitch. Paul, here is a PDF fact sheet on these too, and they are suppose to be both weather and UV resistant, which is a good thing since they are exposed to mass amounts of UV radiation. http://www.powerfilmsolar.com/downlo...eet_LOWRES.pdf

that meter most likely has a 9V in it... they are power misers as long as you shut them off when you're not using them. I'd say just keep it dry and leave it alone til it stops working, then worry about messing with it...
good link... I was looking at the metal roof install... I will def. look into it further when I build my house...

Hey, does the charge controller talk about what the max voltage IN could be from your solar panel?
I got a roofing solar panel, puts out 1.35 amps, and runs at about 22V. Looks like your array puts out 20V, and the controller did fine, right?

Yes, my controller can handle up to 100 watts, and the panel at max is around 60 watts.
Not sure how much voltage it can handle, but it is made for my type of a solar panel. You would probably have to some online solar places and ask them for your type of situation. My panel may put out more voltage than on installation day once I get it in full view of the sun when camping.
