Affordable roof top tents?
are there any? i've been looking for a while now, and can't bring myself to shell out $1300-$1800 for any of the well know tents. i want to mount one on my 416 trailer, for a maryland-alaska trip possibly next year.
i don't mind spending $800 or so any ideas. thanks

I am thinking of getting one, and it fits the stock FJ rack too. They have two models, the one below is the one with an actual floor in it made out of aluminum. The more expensive tent has fiber for the floor I believe. All specs are on the site. $825.00 ![]() $995 ![]()

And its got a loveseat with a foldout twin bed! Instead of gettin a rooftop tent have you thought of a topper? and an inflateable air mattress? I'd go that route if I didn't have my van, and a nice new toolbox on my truck.. ![]() |

You're going to have a tough time trying to find one really cheap. Even if you do, I would question the structural integrity of the cheaper materials. But I do know what you're saying about the price. I wish they were all about half of the price. Perhaps classified section of someone parting out their rig?
