v8 swap questions???

i have a 1989 toyota 4x4 p/u with a stock 3.0L v6. the H/G blew with 183,672 miles and i figured i'm not ganna waste the money on new h/g.i been lookin for a stock motor and so far no luck.. so i think its time for a v8 in the ol' yota. what i'm wondering if theres any1 out there that has done one with out having to buy all the adaptors..whats the cheapest and easiest way to do this?

I have seen one done without the adaptors and it wasn't pretty. had to fab in basically the whole chevy drivetrain to make it work. then he couldn't get the rad to fit. the adaptors make life alot easier.

Unless you have very good fab skills and a place to do that, I'd just buy the adapters. They really aren't that expensive when you figure the headaches they save. Keep an eye on the "For Sale" sections on all the bulletin boards, they come up for sale quite frequently. You will need to swap to a gear-drive RF1A t-case though, there aren't any for the VF1A that you have, which isn't a bad thing.
