Lots of research first is what I would do as this and many other swaps have nemourous threads about the how to's and in's and outs of it all. Your tranny will worjk but you will need the 4cyl turbo bellhousing from an r151f. you have a r150f with a chain drive case. Search more and you shall find all you are looking for on this swap

not for a 5M/7M swap, if he has an r150f, he needs to buy a custom bellhousing (around $350 dollars). if he has the 4 cylinder w56 transmission, then he needs to buy the bellhousing off the supra transmission (must also be a 5 speed).

For the 4 cylinder swap (22R series), simply use 5MGE motor mounts and the 7M block will fit on your original frame welded mounts. use the bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, clutch fork, and slave cylinder from the Supra, everything will bolt up real nice.

I intend to do this swap (seriously haha, not just talk) from my 3VZE to a 7MGTE. I will need to move my motor mounts and purchase the adapter bellhousing, and 5 speed swap my truck all at once haha. Its not as straight forward as the 4 cylinder swap, but the V6 manual is far more stout and will deal much better with my turbo charged swap. I plan to do some mods and am hoping to pull at least 300 horsepower at the rear wheels. its gonna be the truck from hell hahaha

but anyways, here is a good site for information:
Supra Charged!

bellhousing you'd need for a 3VZE swap:
Custom Bellhousing

On second examination, it doesn't look as if you can actually purchase that bellhousing... make your own haha!

Since we are all assuming you have the 5 speed on that v6 and not the auto, you CAN avoid fabricating a bell housing, HOWEVER! it does involve swapping the output shaft from your r150 with the one in the 154 found on the back of that 7m turbo, (or my recommendation the 1jz), then your RF1a transfer case will bolt right up. And if you go with the 7m non turbo or 6m or 5m they have a w58 and you would need the output shaft from a w56 (found in I4 5speeds) to bolt a transfer case. All of these do involve getting the trans with your new motor, if you want to run with run with yours then yes, cut and fab or let the guys a Supracharged.com do it for you.
Hope this helps

Thats OK. If SupraRunner wants to dig up an old thread, let him. He's the #1 source of info on supra engine swaps.

Its just that, They guy who posted only posted in this thread twice, I think he either got deployed or he gave up the idea of the swap, while putting that info in this thread is good for some people, it doesnt negate the fact that he bought up a dead thread from a year ago.
But whatever...

Was only trying to get the information out there, there seems to be some interest in this swap, "while not much". I figured even if THIS guy has moved on, that maybe someone else searching this section for information might benefit from some discussion and information. (I thought that was the whole idea of this area?)

Just the Newbie trying to make some meaningful contributions.

I'm looking for some help.
I have an 89 toyota supra 7mgte manual . I want to put the engine in my 4x4 toyota truck W56 5 speed trans. What bellhousing do I need ? I've searched and found conflicting information. A salvage yard here has an 87 supra 7mge (non turbo )with manual trans.
I'd love a little help here.

thats precisely what you need. The bellhousing off the non turbo 7mge with a w series transmission. be sure to grab the clutch stuff too!

Cool ! I was just at the junk yard feeling like I wasted some time because I'd heard you needed an automatic tranny bellhousing from a 7mge or 5mge. This is great then !!

sounds great man! Unfortunately, reality and practicality got in the way of me ever completing this swap, but I will be watching your build when you get started haha. Be sure to post a link in this thread, otherwise I probably won't see it.

And when you go back to the yard, you will wanna get anything and everything for the clutch. Clutch fork, slave cylinder, flywheel, clutch, and of course the bellhousing.

And, to aid with the installation of the motor, if you have a R series engine now, all you need to get is some 5MGE motor mounts and the 7M will literally bolt right into your truck. You won't need to make custom mounts or move your transmission. You will have to massage the firewall a little bit, but not a whole lot. The trickiest parts of this build are getting the power steering lines all set up and getting a fan/radiator combination that works well and doesn't rub.

Good luck!

*edit*
Not sure about the engine mounting and such on a first gen truck. I know on second and third gens its no problem, but don't take my word for it on that first gen haha.
