hood scoop??

alright, I have searched all over and haven't found much.... I need some info on after market hood scoops people are using on 2nd gen runners or trucks. my 3.4 swap is coming to an end and i need to address the issue. so if anyone can chime in with some pics and any specs on what they ,or anyone else used, that would be great. i am looking for something low and sleek... trying to keep it as clean looking as i can (no body lift so don't even ask) and try to follow the body lines fairly close. thanks a bunch for any info.

image search "fiero scoop" and you'll see the one I was going to use before I decided to go BL. I don't have an image handy since I'm traveling right now but I liked it best of the ones that I saw. pretty low profile too...

I just finished my 3.4 swap and did not need a body lift or cut a hole in the hood. I cut the inner brace on the hood, and rerouted the throttle cable a little lower and so far its good.

Thank you Joe! i will do a little research on the fiero scoop. Fernley, i know that SOMETIMES it is possible to not cut the hood or b/l depending on year and such. sam4runners build for example, the hood cleared ok for the most part but i have seen others that needed to be cut out. i haven't actually set the hood on yet but knowing my luck i will have to cut more then the supports. i am just trying to see what will work and look good so i have options when the time comes. i think i remember reading somewhere that some guys in Spain use newer hilux scoops but i have no idea where to look for one...

Mine would not fit even after trimming the hood brace. For an interim fix I raised the back of my hood with washers and cut a small hole for clearance while I wait to get my scoop installed.

I know it's not a 2nd gen, but I thought the scoop I got from autozone's "bling" isle worked out pretty well. I had to heat it up with a heat gun to get it to form to my hood.

Yes I was lucky. I still might add a scoop to help air out the engine compartment.

Not sure what your budget is but if you can swing it I think the replacement hood is the way to go...

I wish there was an OE replacement hood for our 2nd gen runners, and 3rd gen pickups that are like the 99, or newer 4runner, or taco hood scoops. they look so good..

I like this but I'd rather use the stock latch.

And on the 99 hood Im debating getting a 07 hood with a scoop and trying to graft it onto my 92 hood.

I'm running on mine an entire fiberglass front conversion clip to an '04 tacoma actually with the hood scoop. But I also have a body lift so it wasn't totally needed either.

On a side note, ktm racer... I have an '04 KTM200 and an '07 KTM300...

I had an 03 ktm 200, and now I have an 05 ktm 250 but once I got into yotas I kinda quit riding as much and the racing came to a halt lol. And my truck build takes priority over my pay check for now.

Thanks everyone for your input! of course my hood will BARLEY not clear its close enough I'd rather not cut it out and scoop it. has anyone had much luck with a very small amount of body lift? I am trying to keep it as 'clean' looking as possible.. I am a little OCD about it I will be the first to admit. so again i need some input from the crowd here. any thoughts or suggestions?? thanks a bunch guys
