i know your gona say to look harder but i read once on here that you could reuse your 3.0 oil pan on a 3.4 is that pissible or not. and does anyone have the pictures labeled from the 3.4 wireing harness for when i might get to do my 3.4 swap so i can figure this out faster then taking a month to do this is my onley vehical to drive so im trying to do as much less down time as i can. thanks dirtpup.

Should be able to use a 3.0 oil pan, but there is a little more to it than just swapping the pan, you also need to change the oil pickup tube.

I know of no one that's swapped the clusters. Swapping the oil pressure sending unit is critical, but the rest of the gauges work as advertised.

The wiring is going to be different on almost every swap. Too many variables.

There are no real shortcuts.

You either have to pay with your time or money to get all the electrical to work.

You need the factory electrical wiring diagrams for both the donor vehicle(3.4) and the current vehicle(3.0).

To get them, you pay $10 per day here:
https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo....toyota.com%2F

The wires will all be color coded.

The other option will be to pay ORS to make a harness for you that simply plugs in and adapts the 3.0 body harness to the 3.4 ECM.

It will bolt right up. Use the 3.4 clutch and flywheel (which are bolted to the 3.4), then use the throwout bearing from the 3.0. Fits beautifully.

dirtpup,

I'm in the process of doing this swap... It's been an on and off again thing for a couple of years now, but did give me pleanty of time to research and get my head around what's required.

I have a 1991 Pick-up V6, 5 Speed, 4X4 etc... and have completed the changes to the wiring harness. The 3.4L came from a 1998 4 Runner, and the ECU and harness from a 1998 Tacoma. I hear 97 and 98 are the easiest years for swaping the wiring.

As it looks like you have the same rig, and I can provide you with a copy of the changes I had to make. I have no Cruz or AC and only had to run a couple of new wires and/or repin three plugs (1@ECU(E8 or E5?) & 2 Body plugs C1 & C2)... I purchased wiring manuals from Toyota Distribution Center ph 800-622-2033 (in California I think?) and cost around $20 a pcs. I suggest you think about doing the same at least for the doner, as your going to get into a number if diffrent systems, back-up lights, ABS system, 4Wheel Drive, Combo Meter (speed sensor) and a few others that I can't remember right now.

Also... at least buy the crossover from ORS.. will save on the hassel of trying to build one and also try to get Exhaust manifolds from a 01 and up... as I've been told they flow as good as headers

Let me know and I'll make a copy for you...

Chow for now
Dan

Don't buy the crossover from ORS...it's like 400 bucks. You could get Downey headers for 410 shipped to your door and you'll get more power.

Also, all the wiring diagrams you need can be gotten off of techinfo.toyota.com. you can download all the toyota FSM's from there and they are very helpful.

You can also purchase a wiring harness from Yotaman. He will have it built in about a week and a half and has been extremely helpful to me during my swap. You can save a lot of money going through him.

There is also a thread on here discussing how to build your own crossover pipe for about 6 bucks.
