Question Removing bug residue

I guess I didn't get to washing the 4Runner fast enough after a long summer trip and now there are bug remains left even after I gave my baby a nice bath. Does anyone know if there is a way to remove these unsightly remnants? Can they be buffed out? Is there a special product out that will remove them?

Please help.

John

Baking soda and water works great on bug guts.

I've had good results with Turtle Wax's bug and tar remover.

Let some bug and tar remover sit on it for awhile, while you're washing it w/ a nice soapy solution, take some ladyfriend's (or yours, no judgment here!) old pantyhose, and w/ your hand inside, lightly rub the bugs off w/ your finger tips.

WD works good. So does bug and tar remover. Baking soda also works great and its .25 a box and you probably already have some at home.

Mix it in some water. It disolves. The sodium bicarbonate will eat up the bug guts. I am detailing a suv today that looks like its killed more bugs than Raid and Black flag combined

Before you wash the truck get a bucket of water and pour in the baking soda. Let it dissolve. Less water the better it will work. Use a rag or sponge and start scrubbing. Once the bugs are gone wash your truck with soap and water. Its not any better than anything else but cheap and everyone has baking soda at home.

First I wash the area to get most of the dirt off then I take a 100% cotton terry cloth rag and wet it in the same wash water. Just go over the bug guts with the rag and they will come right off. Make sure to clean the rag often and keep
it as wet and soapy possible. It can take some time but it works great and I have never scratched the finish doing it this way.

I have used Castroil SuperClean. Spray it on, let it sit about 5 min, spray on some more, then use a terrycloth rag to wipe them away. Wash w/ dawn, then wax w/ your favorite flavor of polish.
