Mixing Trans fluid

Hey to all, asked a question reference Transmission fluid changing and learned a lot. the question I now have is, If I don't want or trust the "jiffy lubes" and I don't want to go to the "stealorship" can I do a drain and fill and mix synthetic into the existing ATF? will they mix? and if so will there be an improvement in trans life? thanks in advance. I did some research on this later and a couple people had said that they are compatible and you shouldn't run into any problems...

Tacoma Dude, thanks, I'm sure I could do the complete flush in the garage, but with only 51K on my 2000 it seems the more effiecent way would to be drain (just the pan) and refil with synthetic. Also if I do it every 25K or so eventually I'll be running full synthetic. thanks again. EDH
