Is this SAS shackle angle ok??

I finally got my axle sitting under my truck, but I am kind of worried about the shackle angle. Its a Trail-Gear SAS kit and the instructions said the angle should be slightly back and will eventually settle to 20 deg. back. I have a 4" front spring and they recommended to move the spring hanger forward 3/4", I moved it just a little over 1/2". My angle is very slightly back, when I bounce up and down on the truck it moves more back. Does the angle look ok in the pics? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ive seen worse lol.. but it could be better.. when the springs settle it will get a lil better.

hows your tire to firewall clearance? maybe you could slide the front hanger back a 1/4 inch.

I always mount my front spring hanger flush and never had a problem with shackle angle.

Go for a hard wheel, and see where it sits once it is settled

It may not be the best right now, but will settle

I've never done a sas, Never owned a solid axle vehicle.
But from my 2 years of learning experience on yotas, a vertical shackle angle is bad.

the instructions to move it 3/4 of an inch forward are for a v6 truck from the photos im pretty sure you have a 22r, move the front hanger flush with the frame and you should be fine

Well... I think I'm gonna bit the bullet and move it flush with the frame, the hard thing for me is that the front cross member is bent and angled toward the pass. side, so its a lot of measuring and doesn't look the best b/c the hanger will be straight and and the crossmember is not.

Sounds like your truck has been wrecked. You should get the frame straightened before welding on the new front spring hanger or everything will be out of whack.

wheel it hard and get about 500 mile or so under it and they should settle. My were verticle as well when I did mine and they are starting to kick back a little. But mine have taken a bit longer since the law says I cant drive mine on the street.

The frame doesn't seem straight, but I've been 85 miles per hour when I got it and it tracked very well... I had a friend follow me to look at the rear to make sure it was tracking straight, and it was. I got the spring hanger in there straight to the frame rails, so I just hope for the best. I will not exceed 55 miles per hour in it after the build, I will just be going to the local off road park. Thanks for the advice though.

it took one trip before my 5" tG springs settled....but i had no front shocks so....not sure if that makes a difference...but i did one 1/8 mile rock garden and i noticed that they settled at least and inch and a half...but this is my angle and i know that its is not the best! bust she still droops and stuffs pretty good!

this is on a first gen
