SAS keeping rear coils
I am just doing some final research for my SAS in my 91 runner. Most SAS I see people have done rear leaf conversions. I'm looking for people that have kept the rear coils.
Right now I have cruiser coils and drop panhard. It flexes incredibly. I know that if I am to put longer coils in, I will have to fab or buy longer links. So I'm looking for anyone that has kept rear 4link setup.
Opinions, tips, should I just do leaves?

MarcP kept his coils. might want to get ahold of him. i dont know how much he's on YT anymore, but try getting ahold of him on UY.
the coils vs. leaf debate will last forever. I did leafs because it was quick and easy. thats 99% why people do it. ultimately i will goto a fuel cell where the spare used to be, or in the bed after i chop it. and do a triangulated 4 link with air shocks. but when i did my SAS i did have the time, knowledge, or $$$ to make that happen.
if i remember correctly there is an OME spring (canot remember part number, hopefulyl someone will post it, or talk to Strap22) that give 5.5" of lift over sock. i believe this was said to be a good option if you want to SAS and keep your coiled rear.

This was the first site I found. My other concern is equality. Will the rear be flexier than the front causing any issues? Of course leafs are easier, but the axle already has the mounts for 4link and so does the frame. Maybe just some gussets on the mounts

OME 862's aught to do it. That's what I used before my leaf swap (though I have not done my front yet). It sits nearly where it did before the swap and should be level with the front SAS when it is complete, thus the OME 862 recommendation.

the issue I see is without making or buying longer links the axle will sit too far forward in the wheel wells. Also, I'd like to have some rake, so when I load up the the back i dont have a saggy end

It takes a bit of work but it can be done. Then again it's only money right! I will eventually need to do coil over shocks because the coil springs are a bit soft and a bit harder to fine tune.
