question on sas need help please
About to start a sas on a 92 truck. I was wondering, i want to keep the front tires in the center of the fenderwell. I dont like the look of the front tires under the front bumper, i dont care about approach angles or tires rubbing.
My question is, can i weld the front hanger back from flush alittle to acheive this center look? I know that will put my shackles farther back in the body mount, but thats fine. I know all this needs to be test fitted for shackle angle and everything. I just want to make sure that will most likely put the tires center of the fenderwell. I plan on using the marlin crawler sas kit with the 5 inch springs. Thanks alot. |

im glad to see you looking for a competent fabricator to help you with your s.a.s...
posting on pirate might not have been the best thing to do they are as friendly over there.. def find a good fabricator who has done a toyota s.a.s shouldnt be hard in seatlle and maybe a few member can point you in the right direction.. what size tire are you eventually going??

Not sure about a 92, but wont you have oil pan clearance issues if you put it back in the stock location? I had to move my axle forward about 5" in order to clear the oil pan and keep the truck low (yes i swapped the pan)

I was wondering the same thing. Are there any kits that keep the axle in the stock location?

On my '90 I was able to keep the stock 3.0 oil pan with no clearance issues. I have a 4" MC SAS. I kept the same pan after my 3.4 swap... still without issue. My suggestion would be to do the SAS and just be prepared to get a new pan if you need one, unless someone with your exact vehicle chimes in with what they had to do. ![]()
